It doesn’t take long to realise that any kind of spotlight attention on Pat isn’t exactly desired, hence the nickname, ‘the humble sheet metal worker’. However, Pat doesn’t need to sing his own praises as his attitude towards his work, the company and the way in which he carries out his daily tasks speaks volumes.

Pat says one of the most enjoyable things about working at Samin Sheet Metal is having independence and being trusted to complete his own tasks. When asked about his future, Pat says he could easily see himself at Samin until retirement. “We have a solid team, who are much like family,” he says. Pat jokes that when his daughter came into the Samin office one day, after they left, she asked “why was everybody so nice to me?” Pat replied “because I’ve been working here for longer than you’ve been alive!”

Wade employed Pat those 20 years ago and said from the outset, he was the type of guy who you’d give a job to, he’ll go out and do it and as soon as he’s familiar with it, you’ll never have to give him a job again.

He shows initiative and always has the company’s best interests in mind, qualities which Wade looks for in his staff and employees. “You should treat people fairly and treat them the way you expect them to treat you,” he said.

Samin Sheet Metal does not have a high turnover of staff at all. In fact, a number of staff have been with Samin for over 10 years now. Wade’s final say….. “I suppose we can’t be too bad to work for then?” haha.
